Who We Are

Sam Matus|Owner

Sam began painting about 18 years ago. Without the means to attend college, he went straight to work as a painter after graduating high school. His drive and determination led him to start his own business, Aztec Painting Inc. In 2007, Sam dedicated his life to the Lord and was dramatically changed. His faith influences the way he does business every day. Sam is now very active in ministry with his church, Crossway Chapel of Wilmington. He and his wife, Erin, have three kids. When he’s not spending time with his family, Sam enjoys playing basketball.

Saul Matus|Project Manager

Saul has been involved in the painting industry since 2004. He is one of the first employees of Aztec Painting Inc. He also managed a local paint store before enrolling in the Architectural Technology program at Cape Fear Community College. Saul worked for an architectural firm for several years before returning to Aztec Painting Inc. to help the company continue to grow.

Saul is a husband and a father who tries to invest in the lives of those he loves. As a follower of Christ, he tries to model integrity and godly character to everyone around him and is involved in the local church.

Kirsten Daab|Director of Operations

Kirsten has been enjoying life in Wilmington for the past five years. She loved her work with special needs children and as a preschool teacher for 30 years, but now she is very excited about her new career with Aztec Painting Inc.

Kirsten enjoys spending time at Crossway Chapel. You can usually find her with her family at the beach, particularly when the sun is out.
